Violet was born to Fred and Rachel Cocks in the Leader area on August 22, 1913.  She was joined by six siblings.  She leaves behind two sisters, Ethel Frey and Blanche (Henry) Sept. She was predeceased by two  brothers, John and George Cocks as well as two sisters, Edna Baerwald and Millicent McLeod.

Violet married Alex Diemert on October 13,1935 in Sceptre, Saskatchewan. Alex predeceased her July 27, 1995.

They had two sons, Kenneth (Joan) Diemert and Gerald (Linda) Diemert as well as one daughter, Elizabeth (Vern) Larson.

Violet also leaves grandchildren, Michele(Rick) Diemert, Brett (Tammy) Diemert, Jay (Annette) Diemert, Jamie(Vanessa) Diemert, David Diemert, Bonnie (Neil) Halland and Becky (Randy) Jackson.  She was pre-deceased by a dear infant grandson, Brock Diemert .

Violet was lucky enough to have ten great-grandchildren.  She was thrilled to “make” five generations when Layla Viola Fries joined her family. (Even if she had to live 103 1’2 yrs. To experience that.)

Violet worked in the Leader Library before marriage .  Alex and Violet moved to Swift Current, Kindersley, Success, and back to Swift Current.

Her interests were knitting, reading, and involvement in Eastern Star, Ashley Park Community Centre, quilting and bowling.  She had many, many trophies to prove that.

She was an avid gardener and liked to travel with Alex. She was adamant about not FLYING.  In her words , “NEVER”!

Violet resided in Dawn View  Court  for some eleven-plus years.  She entered the Heritage Manor when her health failed.  She will be missed.

The family would like to thank the Manor for the kindness shown to Violet during her time at their facility.  It was noticed!
