Jean Elanor (Hawkins) Smith

In loving memory of Jean Smith who passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the age of 86 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children; Robert (Doreen), Harvey (Denise), William, Theresa (Neil Harkes), and Lyle (Julie), as well as her many Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren.  Jean was predeceased by her husband Allan in 2010.

Jean was very active in community volunteerism in the many towns she and Allan lived in over the years.  She was particularly proud of her involvement with the Royal Canadian Legion Auxillary, having received her 65 Years of Service pin.  With her Legion involvement, she shared her love of curling by taking ladies to bonspiels who may never have curled before & introducing them to this sport; and generally bringing home prizes for their effort.  She was very proud of managing a rare "Eight Ender"!

She and Allan spent many years at the lake enjoying the cottage life with family, fishing and golfing.  She could be seen doing one of her many crotchet projects while traveling or relaxing at home or the cottage.  Jean would have been seen at the golf courses during the summers into her 70's.

At the family's request, there will be a private family service at a later date in Windthorst, SK.
