Winnifred Phyllis Larson was born on the farm near Camp Lake, Saskatchewan on April 8, 1931. She passed away in Kindersley on February 11, 2025, at the age of 93. Winnie lived in Canwood where her six children, Carolyn, Anne, Walter, David, Debra, and Terry were born.
The family later moved to Kindersley where her husband, Ted started working for L.F. Wyman and Sons. Winnie began working outside the home at the Downtowner Motel and then at the Kindersley Union Hospital.
Winnie will be remembered for her endless generosity, quick wit, and her faith in the Church. While living in The Evergreens, she was always ready to join in with all activities. Winnie very much enjoyed the active social life that centered around playing cards with friends, old and new. Winnie was always eager to contribute to all barbeques and pot luck dinners and other social events.
Winnie is predeceased by her husband Ted, her sons Walter and David, all her siblings Grace Munson (George), Walter Bird (Donna), Ted Bird (Pauline), and Bertha Catling (Lorne). She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Proctor (Richard), Anne Rhodes (Gerry), Debra Larson (Ed Hudson), and son Terry Larson (Heather Paulson).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3:00 pm. on May 10th, 2025 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Kindersley. A private graveside service was held earlier on February 18th, 2025 at the Kindersley cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Winnie can be made at the charity below.
