It is with great sadness that the family of Wendy Darleen Schultz announce her passing on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at the age of 75 years.
Beloved wife of Elmer Schultz, mother of Heather (Dale) Wall & Curtis (Pamela) Schultz;
Beloved grandmother of Derek (Shelby) Wall, Kelsi (Jade) Marion & Sydney (Dalton) Wall;
Cherished great grandmother of Kylynn, River, Ryder, & Sophia plus a couple of fur kids.
There will be a Funeral Service for Wendy on Monday, February 9, 2026 at 1:00 P.M. from the Maple Creek United Church, 301 Maple Street, Maple Creek, SK with Rev. Sheila Deforest officiating.
If desired, memorial donations in memory of Wendy can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Kinsmen Telemiracle Foundation at the addresses listed below.
Wendy was born to Loren (Bud) and Mary Burton (nee Archer) in Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on September 25, 1950. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side in Kindersley on Saturday, January 31,2026 at the age of 75.
Wendy spent a few of her early years in Maple Creek until the call of oil boom took the family to Coleville, Saskatchewan where she completed her schooling in Coleville and finally graduated from Kindersley High School class of 1968. In Coleville was where she met her lifelong soul mate, Elmer Schutz, and later they were married October 17, 1970 in Coleville, Saskatchewan.
On May 8, 1972, Wendy and Elmer were blessed with a daughter Heather Darleen, and four years later a second child born March 16, 1976, Curtis Elmer Wade to complete their family.
Work took them to many places: Maple Creek, Cutknife, Unity and later Plato where they lived for many years. March 31, 2016, marked the end of Wendy’s 30 plus year career at Canada Post Corp as postmaster at the Plato post office. A few years later Wendy and Elmer retired to Eston, Saskatchewan where they currently reside.
Wendy is preceded by her father Loren Burton; sisters Brenda (Robert) Schultz, Sandra (Herbert) Schultz, Vivian Burton and brother Douglas Burton. She is survived by her husband of 55 years Elmer Schultz; daughter Heather (Dale) Wall; grandchildren Derek (Shelby) Wall, Kelsi (Jade) Marion, Sydney Wall (Dalton Metcalfe); great grandchildren Kylynn, River, Ryder, Sophia; son Curtis (Pamela) Schultz; mother Mary Leeson; siblings Kevin (Maurie) Burton, Roberta (Bruce) Weber and sister-in-law Shannon Burton as well numerous, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
