Wayne Foster Obituary

It is with broken hearts that the family of Wayne Foster announce his passing on Friday, February 1, 2019 in Kindersley SK at the age of 70 years.

Wayne will be forever lovingly remembered by his wife, Betty, and his children; Lane, Reid, Blair, Cathy, Angela, Cindy, & Kali, along with their families and friends.  Wayne was a proud papa to his 15 Grandchildren.  In addition to his family, there will be many friends who will remember Wayne with their fond memories.

There will be a Celebration of Life held for Wayne on Friday, February 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul's United Church in Kindersley SK with The Rev. Piotr Strzelecki officiating.  Wayne will be laid to rest in Swift Current SK at a later date.

Wayne Foster passed away in the early hours of February 1, 2019, surrounded by his wife Betty, immediate family and close friends at the Kindersley Regional Hospital after a brief but courageous battle with Cancer.

Wayne had been predeceased by his parents, Laverne and Emma Foster, his father and mother-in-law, Melvin and Mary Norton, and two brothers-in-law, Earl and Larry Norton.  Wayne is survived by his wife of 23 years, Betty, his brothers Harry (Leona), Murray (Kate), Colin (Hatti), his sons Lane (Cynthia), Reid (Carri), and Blair (Carrie), and his step-daughters Cathy (Rod) Manson, Angela Dupuis, Cindy (Simon) Christou, and Kali Hoisington, as well as his 15 grandchildren.  His is also survived by his four sisters-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was born July 13, 1948, in Saskatoon, SK, the first of four boys.  He grew up in the Haultain area of the city and attended Haultain Elementary and Aden Bowman High School before attending the University of Saskatchewan’s College of Pharmacy (graduating in 1970).  Wayne worked in his profession for 48 years.  He was a long-time member of the Kinsmen and K-40 clubs in Swift Current and Kindersley.  He also sat on many boards, commissions, and committees, including two terms as a Town Councillor and another two as Mayor of Kindersley.  In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, gardener, and loved camping.

He was proud of his entire extended family, attending as many activities for all his children, and grandchildren as possible.  He loved each and every moment that he spent with them, smiling, laughing, and offering words of encouragement at every single one.  Wayne will be remembered for his unique laugh, his warmth, and his parting words for everyone in his family, “love you”.
