Tina Lambden Obituary

The family of Tina Lambden are saddened to announce her passing on Thursday, June 6th, 2024, at the age of 76 years. Beloved mother of Bonnie (James) Bauml and Lori (Eric) Feader; grandmother of Shaye (Jesse), Jackson, Calvin, and Ava; and great-grandmother of Lochlan. Tina will also be missed dearly by her significant other Richard Goldworm.

Tina was predeceased by her parents Peter and Katherine Schmaltz, and Rudy Schmidt.

Tina was born December 8th, 1947, in Empress, Alberta to Peter & Katherine Schmaltz. Tina was the oldest of 5 siblings – Bernie, Dale, Maxine, and Baby Barry. Tina began her school years in The Gold Eye Country School south of Glidden. In 1961 due to the long bus ride into Kindersley, Tina chose to attend St. Joseph boarding school in Rosetown. She came back home in 1964 to further her education and obtained a Secretarial Certificate at Kindersley Composite School. In 1966, Tina’s Dad, Peter passed away in a car accident. Leaving Tina’s mom, on her own with 5 kids. Tina had a loving hand in helping her mom raise her siblings. Once they were grown Katherine met Rudy Schmidt, later marrying in 1974. Rudy’s 6 children- Eric, Verna, Andy, Velma, Rodney, and Marilyn then became family.

When Tina attended school, she loved working at Longtin’s Drug Store.  She worked there after school, weekends, and summer holidays. In 1967 she began work at the Town of Kindersley Office and this is when she met, Murray Lambden. They were married on May 25th, 1968, in Kindersley.  In 1972 they welcomed their 1st daughter, Bonnie.  Then in 1975, while living in Swift Current they welcomed their 2nd daughter Lori.  Murray took a job in North Battleford, so they packed up and moved north for a couple of years.  They then ended up back in Kindersley where their family owned the Autotec Gas Station, which Tina managed.  After Tina and Murray sold Autotec, Tina began her most rewarding job, babysitting.  Tina was fortunate to nurture her four grandkids at her daycare. Tina retired from babysitting in 2019, finishing her babysitting years with her granddaughter.

In 2014, Tina met Richard Goldworm. They enjoyed playing cards, going for supper with friends, and traveling to see relatives. Thanks to Richard’s unconditional love, Tina was able to continue living a fulfilled life.

Tina had many outstanding qualities that we will all remember her for. She always had a smile on her face and took the time to talk to everyone, always asking how their children were. Family was everything to Tina. Tina’s house was always the place for family gatherings, where Tina shared her great meals with everyone. There was always an open-door policy for anyone who needed a place to gather. Even Tina’s boarders often joined her for holidays, considering her a second mom. Tina’s nieces and nephews shared stories of how much their Auntie Tina loved them and how they all had a close relationship with her. Tina’s grandchildren will forever remember the beautiful memories with their Gramma.

Tina leaves us all with heavy hearts, yet filled with immense gratitude of the precious moments and endless love she blessed us with. Tina was truly an example of love, compassion, care, and sweetness.  We know Tina would not want us to grieve our loss. Her wish would be to continue living a fulfilling life, to love those around us, and….always use your manners.
