Robert William Elmhurst
April 26, 1959 - February 21, 2025
Bob was born on April 26, 1959, in Kindersley, Sask. Bob dedicated a large part of his early life to sports, notably being a goalie for both the Kindersley Klippers and the Red Lions. At a young age, he started working at Tisdale’s washing cars and pumping gas. Following that, he worked at Erwin’s Menswear, which can be accredited for his dapper sense of style. Retirement from men's fashion led to Bob working in the oilfield industry. In 1989, he started his own business, an oilfield supply company, Elmhurst Consulting. Bob loved his business as it allowed him to develop many relationships and lifelong ties in the community. His love of community also inspired 25 years of volunteer service as an auxiliary member of the RCMP. Bob’s greatest accomplishment of all was his family: loving wife Rita and children Katie, Karlee, Tim and Jon. Some of Bob’s most cherished memories were his family vacations, spanning from loading the whole family into the Ford Windstar for road trips, to all-inclusive resorts in the Dominican Republic (where he took his tanning very seriously). Bob’s other passions included being a superfan of the Denver Broncos, assigning witty nicknames as he was inspired, and hanging out with his cat, Tom. Most of all, Bob loved supporting his community and the people in it.
Bob is survived by his wife Rita; their children Katie (fiancee Brad), Karlee (husband Tyler), Tim (wife Kelly) and Jon; mother Rose Niles; siblings Doug Elmhurst (wife Riying), Peter Elmhurst (wife Kathy), Diane Buchanan (husband Rick), Val Elmhurst, Donna Dorsett and Ron Wagner (wife Diane); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his father Robert James Patrick Elmhurst and step-father Stan Niles.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 28, at 2pm, at the Elks Hall in Kindersley, Saskatchewan. The memorial service will be live-streamed through facebook on Bob’s memorial event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/1168049867662854/ (or use the video link button below)
For many years, Bob was an avid supporter of the STARS air ambulance. As this was his favourite charity, in lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider a charitable donation in his name. Donation information can be found on their website or mailed to the following address:
