Rick Hertz, 76, of Okanagan Falls, BC, passed away on December 14, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. Rick was born in Kindersley on October 11, 1949, to Mike and Madge Hertz.
He grew up in Alsask and later on a farm near Kindersley. After graduating high school, Rick attended the University of Saskatchewan and then Marvel Beauty College in Saskatoon. After receiving his diploma, he worked as a stylist and did some travelling.
Rick’s next venture was opening The Hair Hut in Kindersley. He had a very successful business for many years, with his assistant, Doreen, helping to keep things going. In 1996, Rick married Valerie, the love of his life. In 2008, they moved to Okanagan Falls, where he continued his career until 2024.
Rick was a true gentleman- always kind and caring. He was an excellent artist and a great dancer. Anything he took on, he did with great passion. Rick had many great friends in Kindersley and made even more in Okanagan Falls. Val continues to live there, sharing their dream.
Rick was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Madge, and his older brother, Mick. He will be greatly missed by his family: His wife, Valerie; his siblings, Gloria (Garry), Mary (Phil), Bernadette (Joe), Joey (Gayle), Vicki, Gerry (Alanna), Larry (Nancy), Teresa (Ross), sister-in-law Patti, and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, extended family, and friends
