Leslie Raymond Frick

It is with  deep sorrow and much love that the family announces the passing of Leslie (Les) Raymond Frick on November 26.

Les’ parents, Jacob and Anna Marie (Strasheim) along with their children Marie, Natalie, Martha, Victor, and John, immigrated to Canada in 1926. Two other children, Anne and Les, were born in Canada. Les was the last surviving member of his siblings.

Les was born December 30, 1929. The Frick family lived on many farms in the Luseland area. In 1942 they bought a farm three miles south of Luseland. Les went to school in Luseland where he enjoyed playing soccer and baseball.

Les and Alice Wagner of Hague were married in 1957. They built a new farm site five miles south of Luseland where they raised cattle, chickens, pigs, and grew a large garden. They moved into Luseland in the late 1980s. They loved to travel visiting Europe, Australia, the Bahamas, and many other places in the United States and Canada. Alice passed away in 2014. Les missed her terribly for the rest of his life.  

Les began farming in 1951 with his brothers Victor and John under the name Frick Brothers. Les loved farming and ran a combine into his eighty-eighth year. He also enjoyed doing woodworking.

Even though they had no children of their own they had a loving influence on their many nieces and nephews.

Les was still driving his car the last year of his life. He loved going for lunch at a local restaurant and stopping at the Pioneer Club in Luseland to visit with friends. He moved to Pioneer’s Haven in Kerrobert in 2019. He spent the last few months of his life in Heritage Manor in Kindersley.

Due to Covid restrictions there will be a private family graveside service in the Luseland Cemetery.
