In loving memory of Larry Clifford Ritchie who passed away on Monday June 20th 2022 at the age of 72 years. Beloved husband of Dawn Ritchie, and father of Trent (Dez) Ritchie, Brendan Ritchie, & Nathan Ritchie, grandfather of Brooklyn Ritchie.
There will be a funeral service for Larry on Monday June 27th 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at the Eatonia Community Hall, with Pastor Chris Toth officiating, Interment will follow in the Eatonia Cemetery.
Those wishing to make donations in memory of Larry are encourage to donate to their own local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

Larry Clifford Ritchie was born on October 16, 1949, to Clifford and Evelyn Ritchie in Kindersley. He was the 3rd of 7 boys: Grant, Ray, Bruce, Glenn, Ken, and Ron. His dad was a grain marketer, which required them to move around often. They lived in Marengo, Cabri, Eston, Kindersley, and Eatonia.
Larry joined the army reserve when he was 16 and served for 3 years. He was in the militia, the 102nd battalion Acoy of the Northern Saskatchewan Regiment. He trained in Dundurn, Wainwright, and Germany. In the 90’s he started his own painting business doing a wide variety of contracts, which he enjoyed. He made many lasting friendships through his career.
Larry was a dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion. He participated in their sports program which included golf and crib. He won numerous provincial crib tournaments and played at dominion national crib in North Bay, Ontario and in PEI.
Larry enjoyed reading Louis L’amour books and had a large collection. He also collected Coca-Cola memorabilia and was a loyal Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He loved golfing and would spend much of his time on the golf course.
Larry met his soul mate and best friend Dawn in 1992 and were married on May 1st, 1998. They both prioritized spending time with each other which included crafting and playing Donkey Kong on their Super Nintendo.
He adored spending time with family, especially his boys Trent, Brendan, and Nathan. His granddaughter, Brooklyn had a special place in his heart.
Larry was diagnosed with cancer in 2013. He bravely went through multiple surgeries, radiation treatment and many rounds of chemotherapy. He was determined to live a good life despite cancer.
He gave his life to the Lord in September of 2014. Dawn and Larry joined the Eston Full Gospel Church, and they were water baptized on November 8th 2015. Together both made many lasting friendships through the church.
Despite the many challenges and hardships that Larry underwent he kept his good sense of humor and positive attitude. His sheer determination and will to live has brought his family closer and made them realize that life is precious.
Larry was predeceased by his parents Clifford and Evelyn Ritchie, his mother and father-in-law Olly and Elsie Laich, his brother, Ray Ritchie, sister-in-law Pamela Ritchie, brother-in-law Simon Grant, and nephew Colen Ritchie.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Dawn, his children Trent (Dez), Brendan, Nathan, and granddaughter Brooklyn. He is also survived by his 5 brothers Grant (Victoria), Bruce (Gail), Glen (Holly), Ken (Mel), and Ron (Karen). His brother-in-law Arlen, and sister-in-law’s, Cora, and Elana (Kenny) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
