John Edward Tomecek

The family of John Tomecek are saddened to announce his passing on Friday, February 10th, 2023 at the age of 103.

Beloved husband of the late Marj, and loving father of Glenn and Cheryl.

The following was written by the oldest grandson Scott Lockyer:

Pop,

You were more than just a dad, more than just a grandfather.

You were the mechanic that built Shane's go-kart. You were the tech that fixed the typewriter. You were the conductor that blew the train horn. You were the gardener that let me eat peas off the vine. You were the winner of every Showcase showdown. You were the one who introduced me to Mrs. Slocombe and started my love for British humour. You were VE5JT. You were the simplest to shop for at Christmas, a lollipop. You were my namesake.

103 is nothing to scoff at. You were incredible and incredibly important to every life you touched. Rest easy.
