Helen Joyce (Smith) Peterson

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Helen Joyce (Smith) Peterson. Helen passed away peacefully at the Kerrobert Hospital the evening of April 24th, 2023 at the age of 98.

Helen was born December 23, 1924 in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. She was raised with her brother Ken, sisters Kathleen, Jean (Norris) and Florence (Prescesky). Her favourite pursuits included music, painting and making incredible buns and "currant" cakes.

Helen married Leon Julius Peterson, the love of her life, on January 10th, 1947 in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan. Together they raised four children; Stacey (Anderson), Van, Spence, and Shannon.

Helen was predeceased by her husband Leon, brother Ken, sister Kathleen as well as daughters Stacey and Shannon.

Helen will be sorely missed, never forgotten and forever loved by her sons and their families, sisters Jean and Florence, nieces and nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends.

Van, Spence and families would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful team at Kerrobert Hospital for their care for Helen. In lieu of flowers, Helen's family requests that donations to her memory be made to a charity of your choice.

Interment of cremated remains will be at a future date. Helen loved her close-knit family and those around her and in return was loved by all. Helen's gentle spirit, loving heart and beautiful smile will be missed. Arrangements entrusted to the Kerrobert Funeral Home.
