Hazel McKone Obituary

In loving memory of Hazel (Kachmarski) McKone who passed away on Friday, December 20th 2019 at the age of 88 years.

Hazel is the beloved mother of Joanne Anton, Threasa Bissell, Stan Kachmarski, Dan Kachmarski, Barb Cudmore, Jackie Altomare, Kay Tarleton, Brenda Ingalls, & Arleen Kirkpatrick.

A memorial service will be held for Hazel on Saturday, February 1st, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. from St Paul's United Church, Kindersley SK with The Rev Piotr Strezelecki officiating.

 

Hazel Alberta (Dahl) (Kachmarski) McKone

December 28, 1930 — December 20,2019

Hazel was born at Waitville, Sask. to Clifford and Olive Dahl. They were a family of 6 daughters and 3 sons. Hazel spent her childhood in Beatty, Sask. She attended Normal School and University in Saskatoon, where she obtained her First Degree Teaching Certificate. She went on to teach at the Macklin School and the Brock School in Saskatchewan.

Hazel married Joseph Kachmarski on July 8, 1953. Together they raised 6 children on the farm at Brock. She was active in the community and the church in and around Brock.

In 1999 Hazel married George McKone and moved to Turtle Lake, Sask. She was the proud Stepmother to George's 3 daughters and 1 son and their families. George and Hazel moved to Saskatoon in their later years together. They loved to travel and square dance.

After George's passing Hazel moved to Kindersley, Sask. and became a part of the Caleb Village family. Her greatest joys in life were her family and friends.

She leaves her 9 children to cherish her memory, Joanne Anton, Theresa Bissell (Michael Liew), Stan (Cheryl) Kachmarski, Dan (Lori) Kachmarski, Barb (Darrell) Cudmore, Jackie (Walter) Altomare, Kay (Rupert) Tarleton, Brenda (Ken) Ingalls, and Arleen (John) Kirkpatrick, 24 grandchildren and their spouses, and 21 great grandchildren, 1 sister and 3 brothers as well as a large extended family.

She was predeceased by her parents, Clifford and Olive Dahl, her sisters, Alma and Opal Dahl, Florence Horne, and Grace Henningsen, her husbands, Joseph Kachmarski and George McKone, son, Grant McKone, sons-in-law, John Anton and Perry Goldsmith.

A Celebration of her life will be held on at St. Paul's United Church in Kindersley, Sask,Feb. 1, 2020 at 2 p.m..

Memorial Donations to STARS Air Ambulance can be dropped off at the Brock, Sask. Post Office or

mailed to Dan and Lori Kachmarski at Box 88, Brock, SK SOL OHO.
