Elizabeth Seidel
May 14th, 1928 – November 22nd, 2025
Betty passed peacefully into the arms of God in Kindersley Heritage Manor at the age of 97.
She was predeceased by her husband Walter Seidel; her father John Miller; her mother Anna (Brummett) Miller; her brothers Tony, John and Nick and her sisters Anne and Eva. Betty leaves to cherish her memory, her children Brian (Norma) Seidel, Doug (Cathy) Seidel, Fred (Susan) Seidel, Faye (Doug) Harding, Gord (Sharon) Seidel and Sandra (Curtis) Kergen; 16 grand children and 30 great-grandchildren and her sister-in-law Lillian Miller.
Betty was born on May 14th, 1928, in Prelate, SK and spent her childhood on the family farm south of Glidden and received her formal education at the country school of Goldeye.
Betty married Walter Seidel on October 14th, 1947, and they made their home in the Eston are and farmed there until 1961 when they moved into Kindersley with their six children.
As a young women and mother Betty spent countless hours cooking and baking and doing up preserves for her family as well as the many boarders that sat at their table. Her gift was hospitality, and you could be assured that there would be amazing dinner served up for whomever might just happen to drop in.
Betty and Walter were active throughout their lives and enjoyed dancing, playing cards and travelling in the motor home to visit with family and friends, attending baseball and hockey games to watch and support their children and grandchildren.
Betty had a strong faith and was active in all aspects of church life from a young age. She sang in the church choir for many years and was a member of the Catholic Women’s League for 77 years, serving on numerous committees.
Betty will be dearly missed by her family who she dedicated her life to. She loved spending time with them all and proudly watched them grow and flourish.
