In loving memory of Maurice George Healey who passed away on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at the age of 92 years, 2 days shy of his 93rd birthday.  Maurice was born on October 18, 1926 to George and Sylvia Healey.  He grew up on the family farm south of Rosetown, Saskatchewan and attended nearby Rhondda School.  Maurice married Frances Ingibjorg Hurst on August 11, 1956 and they made Rosetown their home, while farming north of D’Arcy.

Dad’s passion throughout his life was farming and he continued to enjoy his time on the tractor into his eighties.  Like most who grew up during the depression, he knew the value of a hard day’s work.  Going hand in hand with farming, one of Maurice’s favourite hobbies was watching the weather forecast, which was always a topic of conversation with him.  He also liked to keep busy with carpentry and handyman jobs and to listen to old time fiddle music.  Maurice and Inga had many happy times together with family and friends in the community - playing cards and going to dances.  Dad was a man of few words, but he was always there for his family with love and support.  He loved to share a laugh with those around him.

For the past three years, Maurice resided at Eatonia Oasis Living, where he enjoyed the company of the staff and fellow residents.

Maurice is survived by his children Laurie (Mike) Sullivan, Brian (Marcia) Healey, Tim (Sherry) Healey and Michelle (Kent) Gulka; his grandchildren Tristan, Tanner, Amy, Rob, Kristen, Jordan (Justine), Jessica (Wes), Justin, Jeremiah, Mitchell, Hannah and Riley; great-granddaughter Chloe; sister and brother-in-law Roz and Bob McIntyre; sisters-in-law Janet Healey and Dora Kinhnicki and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his loving wife Inga in 1995, his daughter-in-law Debbie Healey, his sisters Dorothea Blaikie, Marjorie Hoenecke and Connie Healey, his brother Jim Healey, his sisters-in-law Dorothy Jabusch and Fay Hurst, and brothers-in-law Lawrence Hurst, Howard Hoenecke, George Jabusch, and Merv Kinhnicki.

Thank you to all the wonderful caregivers, nurses and doctors at Eatonia Oasis Living and Kindersley Hospital, who treated Maurice with kindness and respect throughout his journey over the last few years.  There will be a private graveside family service held at a later date.
