Juliette Leona Palin nee Grenier passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on October 15, 2018 at the age of 95 surrounded by Family. Julie was loved and Cherished, and will be Deeply missed. She was born February 17, 1923 to Dom Leo and Rebecca Grenier in St. Isadore de Bellevue, Saskatchewan.
Julie grew up in St. Isadore de Bellevue, Saskatchewan, after graduation moved to Saskatoon and onwards to Montreal Quebec working at the Bank of Montreal. After moving back to Saskatoon Saskatchewan trained at St. Paul’s Hospital becoming an RN, Married Francis and moved to Kindersley area Saskatchewan where she lived until the age of 91. She loved being a nurse, with fondest memories of her time in Obstetrics. Bridge became a passion and she enjoyed playing, travelling to tournaments with Francis and teaching bridge. She led a dynamic life full of adventures and travelled the world. She was an active member of the Catholic Church community. Bridge, gardening and photography, and the Food Network were often the topic of conversation. The family is very grateful for the many true and loyal friends that contributed to her well being, allowing her to stay in Kindersley until the age of 91. Julie remained active after her move to Calgary at the age of 91 and enjoyed cruising during the last few years, fitting in two last cruises at the age of 95. Most recent to Alaska in August 2018 with her family.
Julie will be lovingly remembered by her sister – Marie Grenier, daughters; Louise Palin (John Collingham), Joan Palin, Granddaughters; Kerrie Collingham (Chris Froese), Christina Collingham (Chris Sitter), Great grandchildren Deklan Froese, & Emily Sitter. Sisters-in-law; Tena Grenier, Roseanne Grenier (Simon Gaudet), Laurel Grenier. Numerous nieces, nephews & friends. Predeceased by her husband Francis, & son Michael, brothers; Aubin, Joseph, Ben, Maurice, & Gil, sisters; Suzanne, and Helen.
A Memorial Mass will be held for Julie on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Kindersley SK, with Rev. Father Emmanuel Azike as Celebrant. Prayers will be held from the church the evening before at 7:00 p.m.
