It is with great sadness that the family of Derek Park announce his sudden passing on May 8, 2019, at the age of 30 years.
Derek was born on June 26,1988 to Gloria and Don(late) Park of Kerrobert, SK. He was the youngest of four children. Derek grew up on the family farm and graduated from Kerrobert Composite School in 2006.
Derek found employment in the oil patch as a pump shop technician and later a Manager. Derek also loved farming and continued to help with the family farm after his father’s passing.
He was passionate about his farm trucks, especially his “Heavy Chevy” and seemed to always be towing friends, or even complete strangers out of the ditch.
Derek enjoyed sports and had a passion for the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and Saskatchewan Roughriders. He was a loyal teammate and friend, with a heart as big as he was. Wherever you went, everyone knew “PARK”.
Family was very important to Derek. He was a loving brother, son, grandson, uncle, nephew and cousin. He enjoyed visiting with his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins at family gatherings and loved to play games with his young nieces and nephews. His love was unconditional.
Derek is survived by his mother, Gloria Park, siblings Kevin (Alison), Neil (Crystal) and Allison (Jason) and five nieces and nephews. He also leaves both his grandmothers Violet Park of Medicine Hat and Antonia Clark of Kindersley to mourn his passing. Derek was predeceased by his father Donald in 2016 and grandfathers Albert V. Park (2011) and Harry Clark (2003).
There will be a Memorial Service held for Derek on Monday, May 13, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. from the Kerrobert United Church in Kerrobert, SK with Pastor Verna Kocski officiating.
The interment will follow in the Kerrobert Cemetery, as well as a time of fellowship will be shared at the Prairieland Community Center.
