Bill (William) Christison

William (Bill) Christison- June 10, 1946 – December 16, 2019

It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of our Dad- Bill Christison on December 16, 2019.  Bill was born in Dumfries, Scotland on June 10, 1946 to James and Isabella Christison.  His parents were dairy farmers and Dad worked on the farm until he was 19 years old.  At that time, Dad wanted to fulfill his dream of owning his own farm and he immigrated to Canada.  He worked on a farm in B.C. before moving to Calgary.  Dad then moved to Dodsland and in 1974 was joined by his new wife, Marlene, who had immigrated from Holland.  Bill and Marlene moved to the farm south of Dodsland and farmed together for 45 years.  Their daughter Marloes was born in 1978 and was joined by their twin boys Grant and Blair in 1980.  Dad loved to farm and took great pride in the crops he grew.  Dad also enjoyed going to Cypress Hills in the summer to golf and visit with close friends and family.  In the winter he chased his 3 kids around hockey rinks all over Saskatchewan.  Dad loved all sports and would always be watching hockey, football, and car racing on T.V.  He also loved spending time with his 7 grandchildren and cheering them on at the rink.  Dad was predeceased by his parents- James and Isabella Christison, and by his sister Irene.  He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years- Marlene; his daughter Marloes McLeod (Don) and their children Carter and Ava; son Grant (Jolene) and their children Abbie, Emma, and Taylor; son Blair (Tara) and their children Jake and Josh.  Also to mourn Dad’s passing are his siblings Anne, James, and Alison and their families in Scotland, as well as Marlene’s sister Corrie (Kees) and brother Jacques (Marian) and their families.  A memorial service will be held at Dodsland Community Hall in Dodsland, SK on Friday December 20th at 1 pm.  In lieu of flowers, donations to the Dodsland Clinic or to the Kindersley Heritage Manor Auxillary in Dad’s name would be greatly appreciated.
