Anne Wack Obituary

In loving memory of Anne Wack who passed away on Saturday July 7th 2018 at the age of 89 years. Beloved wife of the late Ignatius Wack and mother of  Raymond (Blanche) Wack, Joan (Dean) Misner, and Grandmother of Jennifer Misner.

Anne Mary (Herlein) Wack was born on the farm to Anton Herlein and Suzanna Kloster on December 30, 1928. She was sister to John, Rose, Mary, Joe and Lloyd. There were 7 other siblings who died on their trek to Canada.

She went school at Jamieson School, near Fusilier. It was a 4 mile walk in the summertime and horse & buggy or cutter in the winter. We are not sure how far she went in school but it is known she got the strap for speaking German at school, but only once – she was a quick learner that way!

They would go 8 miles to Major to church. In the summertime, when the Sisters would come for catechism, they would walk to and from town each day for classes.

They would also walk the 8 miles to and from Major to see the show on Saturdays.

She worked at many places, including Edmonton, the Jeffries’ at Major and the Peacock’s at Kerrobert.

She married Ignatius Wack on June 21, 1955. They lived at the farm 1 ½ miles west of the present farm until 1967 when they built a new house and established a new yard closer to the main road.

She had 2 children, Raymond in 1957 and Joan in 1962.

She and Ignatius lived and farmed there full time until 1996 when they moved to the condo in Kindersley part-time. (They would move in during the winter and back out in the spring.  Their version of going south for the winter.) They moved into the condo full-time in July of 2002. She continued to live at the condo until her passing last week.

She is survived by her son Raymond and wife Blanche, her daughter Joan Misner and her husband Dean and their daughter Jennifer. She is predeceased by Ignatius in 2006.
