The family of Adam M. Knorr sadly announces his death on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the age of 89 years.
Beloved husband of Marie Knorr, and father of Morris (Wendy) Knorr, Maureen (Terry) Deschner, Ellen (Denis) Huot, and the late Sara (John) Montgomery.
There will be a funeral service for Adam on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from the Kerrobert United Church with Pastor Verna Kocski officiating
Interment will follow in the Kerrobert Cemetery.
Adam Knorr was born on Sept. 22, 1929 at Baliol SK to Leo & Josephine (Stark) Knorr. He was the 1st child of 15 brothers and sisters.
At a very early age Adam worked for many area farmers including the Burgardt family outside Kerrobert. At the age of 14, he left home permanently to work for Jim Reynolds. He established his reputation as a hard worker and in time, purchased his own land while continuing to work with the Reynolds. His reputation as a master carpenter grew and he built many homes in the Kerrobert District as well as countless renovations. He also built furniture. A jack of all trades who could fix anything.
In 1958 he married Marie Aamodt and together they raised 4 children. Morris 1960, Maureen 1961, Ellen 1963 and Sara 1964.
He served the community in many ways including with the School Board and Town Council for many years and kept the Curling Rink going when nobody else could.
Sports was a big part of his life. His reputation as an outstanding fastball pitcher was known throughout West Central SK.
With all of this, he found time to be a wonderful husband and father. Survived by his wife Marie, and children Morris & Wendy, Maureen & Terry Deschner, Ellen & Denis Huot and Sara (deceased) & John Montgomery, as well as countless grandchildren and great grandchildren, and many brothers and sisters with numerous nieces and nephews.
