Jo-Ann (Dickie) TETLOCK

 It is with heartbreaking sadness that the family of Jo-Ann Tetlock announce her passing on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in the Leader Hospital at the age of 65 years. Jo-Ann leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 47 years Dave; son Cory and Ang, granddaughters Cianna (Jesse) and Morgan; daughter Amber and Aaron, grandsons Mason and Jett. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her sisters, Gloria Shields, Lorie (Richard) Andreas, Connie (James) Nielson, and brother in law Bill (Jeanette) Tetlock and sister in law Helen Kent, and many loving nieces and nephews and countless friends. Jo-Ann was predeceased by her parents Bob and Vi Dickie, infant sister Pamela, Dave’s parents Stan and Doll Tetlock and in laws Bill Shields, Lloyd and Delane Tetlock, Ken and Bella Tetlock, Sis and Everett Lloyd, Murray and Aline Tetlock, Sherwood Tetlock and Cliff Kent.

Jo-Ann was born June 8, 1952 in Leader, Sk. and was raised in Sceptre. On October 10, 1970 she married Dave and they resided in Leader until her passing. She began her years of employment at CIBC in Leader upon graduation from high school. She was also employed at the local Credit Union before starting her career as a cook. It wasn’t long before it became evident that Jo-Ann’s real passion was cooking. She owned and operated the Cozy Corner and when that sold, she was off to Consort, Alta to run a restaurant there. Upon returning to Leader she and Dave owned and operated Rattlers. At this time she also became the editor of the local newspaper.

Besides cooking Jo-Ann loved attending Rider games, traveling, camping, golfing, and curling and above all else spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Jo-Ann was a strong and willing member of the community. She was a Charter member of the Leader Lioness, a Town Councillor for many years, was a very active member on the Leader United Church Board. She was the main cook at many fundraising events.

A celebration of Jo-Ann’s life will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 1:30pm in the Leader United Church with Rev. Salesi Takau officiating. Lunch will be held immediately following the service at the Leader Community Hall. The interment will take place following the lunch at the Leader Cemetery.

Memorial donations in Jo-Ann’s memory may be made to the Leader Curling Rink Building Fund (Town of Leader) or to the Leader United Church Memorial Fund.
