Inez Ruth Dewar (nee Ashbacher) of Hoosier Saskatchewan slipped quietly away at the age of 85 years on January 8, 2017 in the Rockyview Hospital, Calgary Alberta, to be with her beloved Lord Jesus and to a joyful reunion with Gordon her beloved husband of 65 years and baby daughter Shelley Fae who went before to help prepare her place in Heaven. Inez was born July 20th 1931 on the pioneer family farm north of Hoosier to Anna and Frederick Ashbacher, one of 7 children. She married Gordon Dewar in 1949 and moved with him to the Dewar family farm where she lived her whole married life, farmed with her husband and raised her family. Later Inez also worked for several years off the farm in the Kindersley field office of the provincial Ministry of the Environment. She was active in the community as a Sunday School teacher and a 4-H leader, and together with Gordon was involved in the Christian Cowboys Association and her local church. She was gifted with her hands and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting and of course making her famous bread and “Lala buns”, favourites of the grandchildren. She is already deeply missed by her children Debra Amrein-Boyes of Agassiz BC (George), Wendy Dewar-Hughes of Agassiz BC, (Gordon), Bradley Dewar of Calgary AB (Wendy) and Burke Dewar of Chestermere AB (Darcy) and her 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Her loving and generous spirit was a gift to all who knew her, and her dedication to her family and to her deep Christian faith was an example for all to follow.
