In loving memory of Barb Abbott who passed away on September the 8, 2016 at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of Ken and mother of Brent, Brad & Kelly.

A Memorial Service for Barb will be held on Wednesday, September the 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m., from St.Andrew's United Church in Eston, Saskatchewan, with Rev. Barb MacNaughton officiating. Interment of ashes will take place at a later date. 

        It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Barbara Lorraine Abbott, at Kindersley Heritage Manor, on Thursday September 8, 2016.  Barb was 80 years old.

        Barb is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ken.  She also leaves behind her three sons Brent (Nikki) and their 4 children Kristy (Andrew Moggey), Kote, Keisha, and Kaden; Brad (Terrie) and their 2 children Dawson and Landry; Kelly and his son Mason. She will be missed by her beloved sister Patti (Bill Miller).  Barb was also a great grandmother to Rylee, Reese, Skyla, and Jamieson.  She was predeceased by her father and mother, Syd and Esther Bennett.

        Barb was born July 1, 1936 in Eston, Saskatchewan, with the majority of her childhood being spent in the Bickleigh area.  In 1954 she started working as a teller at the Royal Bank in Rosetown.  She married Kenneth Abbott on June 13,1964 and together they moved to Brock and purchased a farm.  Brent was born one short year later, followed by Brad in 1970, and Kelly made his appearance in 1975.  In 1988 she purchased the local store in Brock and ran it until 1994.  The next 13 years were spent helping Ken with the farm.  Barb loved her family immensely and her most treasured times were spending time with her children and their growing families.

        The last year Barb lived at Heritage Manor, Kindersley, SK where she kept busy doing activities, visiting and playing cards with the wonderful ladies and caregivers. She has left behind the wonderful memories of being the "nicest lady you'll ever meet".
